Interview with Trevor Jones sailmaker in the sailmaking factory, Hurman Street, Butetown. Content summary: Company history 1887-1939. Working conditions, sailmaking, sail loft, size of sail loft, cutting out canvas. Now the trade has had to diversify now that less canvas is used is shipping - such as tarpaulins for lorries. Future - Trevor Jones is not keen now to go into any new ventures - rather preferring to carry on as he is until he retires. Feels he's too old to start anything new.
