Tray, tin-plate, rectangular form with rounded corners and out-curving sides, curved hand-holes cut into the narrower ends; covered all over with a black japan, the well crudely painted with an allegorical scene against a greeny-yellow ground showing Queen Caroline being crowned by cherubs and surrounded by female angels playing musical instruments, the scene enclosed by a wide border extending up to the rim of flowers and leaves painted in shades of bronze and colours.
