Barouche type family coach with c springs, unidentified paintwork colour due to poor condition of surface, all glazing has broken. Interior The interior is upholstered in cream wool and pale yellow figured silk, with horsehair stuffing and trimmed with broad lace and thinner pasting/seaming laces. The broad lace has a sycamore leaf and berry design with a leaf and vine border, the pasting lace has a semi circle deign with dots in between and the seaming lace is a spiral design, all are woven from wool and cotton. The broad lace on the pocket flaps and glass strings are slightly different, they have spiral and leaf design. The front panel has 2 windows with blinds and shutters at the top, with a large flapped pocket underneath and 2 wool covered, leather lined footrests at the bottom which fold down from the top. There is a glass string for each window made from broad lace with a leather back and tassel on the end. On both side of the pocket near the doors is a small cup shaped pocket fixed to the panel. There is seaming lace around the footrests and window frames.
The doors are covered in wool with seaming and pasting lace around the window frame, below the window is a wide but narrow flapped pocket which is trimmed with broad lace. Attached to the frame is a glass string with a tassel at the end. There is also a French string which retains the window in its closed position, this is attached to the glass string with a toggle through a slit above the tassel. On the lower door panel there is a cut away to accommodate the step, the steps can fold down away from the door or into the carriage to form a small table. The carpet remains on the threshold and steps but the floor is bare wood, it consists of beige wool with black polka dots. The top of the step is a cushion upholstered with 4 tufted wool buttons and edged with broad lace. There are 4 metal, linen covered blind rollers, most of the silk blinds are missing, part of one was loose on the seat and had been shredded in to a mouse nest. The remaining blind is made from gold coloured silk.
On each side there is a quilted upper panel covered in silk with a floral design and embroidered buttons, the quarter squabs are below are not quilted and covered in wool, the tops of the arm rests are silk, the underside is wool with seaming lace around the edge. Each side has 1 hanging holder and 2 pillar holders made form broad lace, padding and lined with a different figured yellow silk, they are attached at the top and bottom to form long loops. On the back wall there is an upper panel of yellow quilted silk with a small rectangular shaped window flap in the centre. The back squab is also quilted silk with horse hair filling. The loose seat cushions have a silk top and wool underside with hair stuffing and seaming lace trims. The ceiling is lined with wool and the join with the sides is covered with broad lace and seaming lace. Underneath the seat is a pleated valance made from wool with a broad lace trim which fits around the thresholds on both sides.
