Early Medieval pottery bowl
Rigoir Form 16. Abraided rim and top of body of a bowl probably Form D3, but broken at the waist cordon. The rim is bevelled internally, and the exterior of the neck is decorated with shallow grooves. Standard D ware, with traces of black wash preserved in the grooves. May have been rouletted, but no trace remains.

D: Large, often slabby stones, with smaller stones interspersed; dark humus-soil; relatively few bones or finds. Excavation conducted in the promontory fort and the adjoining hill-slope enclosure.
