Sauce-boat
Sauce-boat, soft-paste porcelain, oval shape, spreading waisted foot-rim with a lobed edge, rounded sides, flaring lobed lip-rim, wide elongated spout, ear-shaped handle with raised thumb-spur; the exterior sides of the sauce-boat and the foot-rim covered with a dark blue ground against which to either side of the body are reserved two panels left in the white and enclosed by cartouches of gilt scrolls, these panels then delicately painted in polychrome enamels with clusters of fruit and foliage, to the interior bottom of the sauce-boat a plum and foliage with scattered leaves to the interior sides of the sauce-boat, a slightly worn gilt motif to the underside of the spout, gilt bands around the foot-rim, lip-rim and spout, gilt markings to the handle.
