Jug, earthenware, standing on a rounded spreading waisted foot with slightly scalloped foot-rim, bulbous scalloped sides, concave cylindrical neck with waved lip-rim, beak spout moulded with foliage to the underside, high scroll handle with raised thumb-spur, foliate moulding to the shoulder and foliate moulding to the body around the lower terminal; transfer-printed in black with to the front of the exterior body a design showing a crown surrounded by a wreath of foliage including roses and thistles, to one side of the exterior body a half length portrait of a male figure clad in coat, waistcoat and shirt and wearing several medals, to the neck of the jug above this figure is the inscription "His Most Gracious Majesty / King William 4th" on a scrolling banner surrounded by flowers and foliage, to the other side of the exterior body a half length portrait of a female figure clad in a gown with puffed sleeves and high ruff-like collar, to the neck of the jug above this figure is the inscription "Her Most Gracious Majesty / Queen Adelaide" on a scrolling banner surrounded by flowers and foliage, to the interior neck and upper- and underside of the spout several sprays of flowers and foliage, a dentil border with flower heads and a looping line to the foot-rim and the handle.
