Early Medieval pottery mortarium
Rigoir Form 29. Lower wall and base of a hemispherical mortarium with pseudo-footring (form D1). Sparse trituration grits and pock-marks in the lower half only. Standard D Ware with a well preserved black wash externally and traces of similar wash internally. The exterior is markedly faceted.

O: A spread of Ash and charcoal on the old ground surface, sometimes associated with built hearths. Excavation conducted in the promontory fort and the adjoining hill-slope enclosure.
