Slop-bowl, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a tall foot rim, flared sides, everted lip, decorated in polychrome enamels with two scenes, one of a riverscape, a bridge over a river with hill behind, man on rock in foreground, other of a harbour scene, a ship with its sails down, rocks and building to left in background, figures to left in foreground, both within gilt and purple lustre cartouches with iron-red and purple scrolling, elaborate sprays of flowers in between cartouches, gilt band to foot rim and lip, bottom decorated in purple with a harbour scene, a figure seated on a box looking out to sea, within a gilt and purple lustre cartouche with iron-red and purple scrolling, ornamental gilt border to inner lip.
