Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'The Sportsman' (although this title is not recorded on the lid), showing a moorland landscape with two male figures, one holding a gun, the other carrying several dead rabbits or hares, a dog and what appears to be a cat, the print enclosed by a narrow circular dotted border, a bluish tinge to the glaze The glaze crazed, the flange slightly chipped.
