Milk jug, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a rounded spreading foot, ovoid body, cylindrical neck, curving lip-rim, short beak spout,curving flutes around the foot, reeding and raised dots around the lower body, raised moulded leaves around the shoulder, two narrow bands of beading around the neck, to the front of the body the modelled head of a female figure wearing a head scarf in full relief, scrolled ear-shaped high loop handle with slight foliate-moulding; the exterior body of the jug covered with a blue ground over which has been painted an elaborate gilt decoration creating a mesh-like pattern with blue dots showing through, the moulded areas painted gilt, a waving gilt line around the shoulder, to either side of the body are reserved two white oval panels painted in polychrome enamels with groups of fruit, the panels enclosed by borders of gilt stylized flower heads, gilt bands around the foot-rim, lower body, shoulder, lip-rim and spout, the modelled head and handle painted in gilt. The handle broken and repaired.
