Bryn Oer tramroad, slide
Brynoer Tramroad. Captioned “tramplate reused as fence post”. Shows a length of rolled wrought iron tramplate with a wear groove through which the holes for the fence wire have been drilled. April 1968. J.van Laun “Early limestone railways” (London, 2001), p.143 describes how these tramroads after 1852 converted to “plain L-section wrought-iron plates” … “weighing 50lb / yd” and illustrates a chair (fig.108, p.144) suitable for such plates. It appears that /54 illustrates a length of this plain 50lb/yd rolled wrought iron tramplate.
