Doll with finely painted china head, leather covered lower arms and hands, textile torso, legs and feet. The hair is painted, showing a centre parting and corkscrew locks.
Clothing: Straw bonnet with an inner lining of stiffened canvas fabric trimmed and tied with a green ribbon. The bonnet also has detailing of wire flowers, black lace net and black glass/jet beads. The doll wears a printed cotton dress, with a light and dark brown floral motif. Front trimmed with two lengths of plain lace, wide bell shaped sleeves ending in a point. The apron is pinned to the waist under the arms. It is made from a light and dark purple striped on a white tabby ground. The gathering of the apron at the upper edge is partly covered by the waistband of the same material. The skirt has an inside pocket on the right. Underneath the skirt there is a plain white petticoat and a shorter petticoat printed with a light and dark pink floral pattern. The doll wears pantaloons which open up between the legs and around the bottom. The doll has a flower bouquet of pink and green flowers with metal wire. This sits on the waist and is not attached.
