Sugar bowl with cover
Sugar bowl, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a rounded foot-rim, rounded curving sides, domed cover with a pine cone finial to the top; finely painted in polychrome enamels with to either side of the exterior body of the sugar bowl scenes showing domestic birds in rural settings with architectural pedestals and features, around the top of the cover and the exterior of the bowl scattered sprigs of miniature flowers, around the exterior lip-rim of the bowl and the rim of the cover an elaborate border of gilt foliate scrolls and miniature flowers in massed groups, gilt bands around the foot-rim and exterior lip-rim of the bowl and the rim of the cover, the finial picked out in gilt. A crack to one side of the sugar bowl.
