M.V. JEAN berthed at the MBM timber terminal at Newport Docks with 22,000 tons of packaged lumber and plywood from British Columbia, Canada. It was the first cargo to be handled at the MBM timber terminal and believed to have been the largest single timber cargo ever discharged at the UK up to that time.

M.V. JEAN (15,100 gt) was built in 1966 by Osaka Zosencho, Japan, and owned by Cardenosa Compania Naviera, SA.
