A shield, ensigned with an episcopal hat; a crescent, in chief (?) two wolves' heads erased; crest: a lion passant, dext. of which, a mitre; sin. a pastoral staff;motto: ?STUDIT ET ERUDIT.These arms are not those on his tomb in Downside Abbey, Bath.(The ascription to Bishop Baines comes from a 19th Century hand on the reverse, B.P.Baynes).
