Hong Kong was the home of a number of well-known shipping firms, such as John Manners & Co. Ltd., owners of the Sydney Breeze. This 5,386 gross ton vessel was originally built at Sunderland in 1949 as Trelevan for the Hain Steamship Co. Ltd., and was sold to Manners in 1964. She was eventually broken up in Spain in 1974. M.V. SYDNEY BREEZE. Built 1949 by William Doxford & Sons Ltd., Sunderland as TREVELAN for the Hain Line (Hain-Nourse?) 1964 – Sold to Cambay Prince SS Co. Ltd (J. Manners & Co.) Hong Kong, and renamed SYDNEY BREEZE (3). 1970 – Sold to Global Navigation Co., Montreal and renamed GLOBAL ENVOY. She was laid up at Sorel, Quebec for about three years. 1973 – Renamed BAFFIN BAY (still owned by Global Navigation, but registered in Nassau, Bahamas). While bunkering at the Texaco terminal at Halifax, Nova Scotia on the 5 July 1973, an engine room fire broke out and the ship was declared a total constructive loss. She arrived under tow at Valencia, Spain on 4 October 1973 to be broken up.
