Tray, bone china, irregular octagonal shape with tapering foot-rim, curving sides and spreading rim, a shaped edge to the rim, the corners of the rim moulded with a design of shells and folaige; to the centre of the well an irregular octagonal panel painted in polychrome enamels with a rural landscape of parkland with cattle and a curving avenue with in the background a many-towered castle emerging from behind trees and mountains in the distance, the panel enclosed by a gilt border with slightly raised gilt decoration of scrolls, anthemions and arches, a blue ground to the sides of the well decorated in gilt with scrolls and floral and foliate motifs, the moulded edge to the rim left in the white and picked out in gilt.
