LINEN, embroidered with coloured silks in cross stitch. At the top are the following verses:
"O never let my Lord depart Lie down and rest upon my heart I charge my sins not once to move Nor stir nor wake nor grieve my love." "How Vain Are all things here be low How false and Yet how fair Each pleasure hath its poison too And Evry sweet a Snare"
Below is a house fronting a fenced enclosure; Adam and Eve and the Tree of Knowledge; animal, bird and human figures; various conventional flowering plant, tree and other designs; with, at the bottom, the inscription: "Remember Thy creator in The / Days of Thy youth / Mend your days with Joy / Mary Lowcock work Finished 1815 Aged 16". There is a geometrical border. From St. Athan, Glamorganshire.
