Plate, pearlware, circular shape with flat base, curving sides and spreading rim, the rim moulded with a basketwork border surmounted by a band of oval perforations, a shaped edge to the rim; transfer-printed in underglaze blue with to the centre of the well the 'Willow' pattern, to one side of the scene three figures cross a bridge overlooked by a willow tree, beyond them is a boat on an expanse of water, to the other side is a pagoda surrounded by trees with a zigzag fence in the foreground, two birds fly over the scene, border to the sides of the well of alternating lattice-work and diaper panels, two narrow underglaze blue bands to the basket-work border to the rim, the perforations to the rim edged in underglaze blue.
