Medieval lead pilgrim badge
A small decorative trefoil badge or fitting, possibly a pilgrim badge.
The badge is formed of three domed circles in trefoil formation, each with a raised, possibly pelleted border. At the centre is a small circular pellet from which three branches emerge between the circle joins. Each branch has a spatulate terminal.
On the back of the badge is a iD-shaped bar and the remains of a hook (now crushed) below the bar. These attehments would have been used to attach the badge to clothing.
The surface of the badge is worn and rough and there is some damage to the edges of the trefoil design.
