Fine ground fabric embroidered with coloured silks in cross and eyelet stitches. Zigzag border. Upper part: ten rows containing upper and lower case alphabets, numerals 1 to 10 three lower case alphabets and a further incomplete to u, upper case italic alphabet, numerals 1 to 8, upper case and numerals 1 to 11 alphabet in eyelet stitch, all rows separated by geometric ornament or floral wavy lines. Lower part: three rows of detached motifs, including flowering plants, plants in baskets, birds and butterflies. Maker's inscription, school and date at foot
