S.S. LLANGORSE (Stormy Sea) (painting)
Ochr starbord yr S.S. LLANGORSE ar fôr tymhestlog. Llong stemar â dec grisiog oedd hi, a adeiladwyd gan Ropner & Sons o Stockton-on-Tees ym 1904 ar gyfer Evan Thomas, Radcliffe & Co., Caerdydd. Ei henw gwreiddiol oedd Clarissa Radcliffe, ar ôl un o ferched Henry Radcliffe; a chafodd ei hailenwi ym 1917. Fe'i gwerthwyd i berchnogion newydd yn Llundain ym 1924, yna i ddwylo Groegaidd a pherchnogion o Banama, cyn ei throi'n sgrap gan gwmni Wards, Aberdaugleddau ym 1952.
The S.S. Llangorse was a trunk-decked steamer built by Ropner and Sons of Stockton-on-Tees in 1904 for Evan Thomas, Radcliffe and Co of Cardiff. When built, she was named Clarissa Radcliffe after one of Henry Radcliffe’s daughters. She was re-named Llangorse in 1917. Sold to London owners in 1924, she passed to Greek and Panamanian owners before being scrapped by Wards at Milford Haven in 1952.
