Late Bronze Age socketed knife
The blade of this knife has a slight ridge on each side of the cutting edge, and a rather wide one down the centre, giving it a triple ridged effect. The socket has a single peg hole in each side, parallel with the blade, rather than at right angles with it. The top of the socket attachment has a zone of four parallel incised lines; each 1 mm in width, running parallel with to the top edge of the socket. The blade end of the socket forms a distinctive concave U-shaped curve, or notch, at the top of the blade. The socket is broken and incomplete, although two of the socket fragments do form joins with the lower socket and blade. The blade is complete, although the top end is slightly bent. The surface of the knife does have some corrosion products, especially towards the upper end of the blade.
