Casgliadau Arlein

Late 19th century child's bier used to transport the bodies of children from their homes to chapel, and then to the graveside ready for burial. Only two out of every five children born between 1848-1853 reached five years of age in overcrowded industrial areas such as Merthyr Tydfil.
