This tile number is incorrectly unidentified as Lewis Group 12, plain tile. The fragment may be Lewis Group 12, no. 95. Inlaid, shield of arms set diangonally: three chevrons (Clare); composite leaf springing from top and foliage from sides. Variant of tile no. 54. c.f Keynsham Abbey, no. 43 (Lowe, n.d.).
