Under a trefoiled canopy, St.Cuthbert seated holding St. Oswald's head; between two shields : dext. a cross (plain here, but perhaps for the Bishop Skirlaw, No.180); sin. a cross between four lions rampant, SEE OF DURHAM. Above within a smaller niche, the Blessed Virgin seated and crowned, holding her Child. In base, under a rounded arch, the bishop in prayer.
