Knee clamp
A pair of curved wooden staves sprung together to hold leather in place for sewing. The top edges grip the leather and are kept together by pressure between the knees of the user, as well as their own 'spring'. Between the two staves is a third piece at the other end of the clamp. From a shoemaker's workshop.
