Jug, earthenware, standing on a thickly rounded foot-rim, bulbous body composed of six convex panels divided by vertical incised lines, cylindrical neck flaring slightly to the mouth, lobed lip-rim, wide elongated beak spout, high loop handle with raised foliate moulded thumb-spur, a band of moulded anthemions to the shoulder and to the exterior lip-rim and spout, a moulded foliate motif to the underside of the spout and beneath the handle; transfer-printed in black with to the exterior body and neck five different fishing scenes showing figures with boats or fishing rods in rural landscape with rivers, buildings and trees, to one side of the interior neck another fishing scene with two small figures by the side of a river against a rural landscape with buildings and trees, to the other side a rustic scene showing a female figure standing beneath a wooden gateway against a rural lanscape with buildings and trees, two black bands to the exterior lip-rim and spout, black anthemions and further black markings to the handle.
