Plate, soft-paste 'duck-egg' porcelain, plain circular shape with tapered foot ring and straight flared profile; painted in underglaze blue, pale blue and iron-red enamels and gilding with a Japan / Imari pattern (pattern no.451) comprising a band on the rim of paired orange-red flowers with dark and pale blue leaves, a band round the side of the well of alternating panels of diaper pattern and leaves sprouting from rocks, in the centre a group of orange-red flowers, prunus(?) and dark and pale blue leaves.
