Early Medieval human remains
This is the Inhumation Burial of a Young Adult (20-25 years) who's sex is Ambiguous They are well preserved and around 75% complete They were 163cm tall (5 foot 4.2 inches)
The burial is from Phase D: 529-709 AD
They had Osteomyelitis identified by lesion on the distal end of their right tibia. They formed two cloacae holes in the bone, with a deposit of remodelled compact bone visible inferior to the defects. This could have originated from a soft tissue wound that got infected and later healed, as there was no sign of the bones being fractured.
