oak 3-panelled front chest of single plank construction; the top and front panelling of oak and the sides, back and base boards of elm; circular iron escutcheon plate; feet tenoned into sled-rails; front and top of chest is carved with arcading and diamond lozenge carving; inside is original tillbox with lid and staple hinges. Central panel is set with side grain and end panels with upward grain.
