Early Medieval silver arm ring
Silver composite arm ring comprised from two lengths of recycled decorative arm ring of of Hiberno-Viking type, sandwiching two chains of silver Trichinopoly wire, fastened together with two silver dome-headed rivets. Each face has the form of a short length of a broad flat band of silver, rectangular in cross-section with punched ornament on one face. There is an explanded mid-portion on both sides, tapering to both ends (one cut, the other broken). This implies offcuts from two armrings, rather that one halved. The outer faces of both lengths are ornamented with the same punched 'opposed triangular/hour glass' with pellets motif.
