ECM: Llanrhidian; cross slab (replica)
Decorated slab. The upper edge is dressed level, the lower damaged by fracture; the ends are tapered as if to form tenons, one partially missing. One face is decorated. A. The face is decorated in low relief with incised patterns: 1. The centre of the composition is occupied by two stylised human figures (right and left) with inverted pear-shaped heads and squared bodies, the noses, eyes and mouth simply represented. ; 2. Between the heads of the figures are two designs: right; a square cross form in low relief, with incised rings outside the corners, left; a design that includes an incised Latin cross with radiants between the arms; 3. The central group is flanked by a pair of stylised animals in "rampant" stance; the snout of the dog-like right-hand one touching the shoulder of the right hand figure, the left, facing away. Both are separated by a slight surface depression. (The whole scene represents the meeting of Saints: Paul and Briget? in the desert).
