Painted wood second world war memorial plaque with inscriptions and plain borders embossed in relief, headed “1939-1945.” Single panel within plain borders. Lists 14 names in by surname and initials, each with regiment/corps or branch of service, in a single column. The first names are in alphabetical order. All lettering and borders are embossed and painted gold, the recessed background is painted black, the wood of the background being lightly textured. This plaque was made to complement the company’s first world war plaque (2017.92/1), matching it in lettering, border and background texture. It may be a foundry pattern that was painted and displayed rather than being used to cast a plaque in brass or bronze to match the first world war plaque.
