Woollen canvas ground, embroidered with coloured silks in cross stitch. At top: upper case alphabet and numerals 1 to 16 in three rows; below: verse on Friendship. In centre: band of detached stylized motifs of flowers, trees and birds. At bottom: family initials followed by maker's inscription and date, flanked by flowering plants in pots. Lines of inscription separated by lines of floral and geometric motifs. Some moth damage at bottom.
