Navy blue felted hat. There are 4 holes for air circulation (2 either side of the head, above the ears). A white cotton twill tape, underneath a black synthetic? satin ribbon bands round the cap. At the front there is the lettering H.M.S with a black bow. A navy cotton twill neck strap is used to hold the cap in place. On the inside of the cap there is a green, blue and red cotton fabric lining. The wearers name is written here along with the makers stamp, which contains the image of a ship.
