ss. WILLIAM H. DANIELS (1764gt) : Built 1923 by Furness Shipbuilding Co Ltd., Haverton-on-Tees (with triple-expansion steam engine by McColl & Pollock, Sunderland, for the Eastern Steamship Co., Middlesbrough,UK, and St.Catherine’s, Ontario, managed by Boland & Cornelius. 1936 – Sold to Upper Lakes & St. Lawrence Transportation Co. Ltd., St.Catherine’s, managed by G. Leitch. 1941 – Requisitioned by MoWT and rebuilt to 1772gt. In 1949, she became flooded when water broke into a dry dock at Silvertown, London, while undergoing refurbishment. 1950 – Retuned to her Canadian owners. 1959 – Owners restyled Upper Lakes Shipping Ltd., managed by J.D. Leitch. The ship was laid up from 1960 - 63. 1963 – Sold to Superior Aggregated Ltd., (Robert B. Bennett), Toronto, and converted to a crane ship. 1966 – Sold to Mid-Canada Transports Ltd., converted to a sand dredger, and renamed SCOTT MARK. She was broken up at Fort William, Ontario in 1967.
