This photograph of Frog Lane Colliery at Coalpit Heath (Gloucestershire) shows the two shafts only seven feet apart. The one on the right contains the winding gear and on the left the Cornish Beam Pumping Engine. Coal in the foreground is being stockpiled for loading into wagons. There appears to be two sets of steam boilers, one on each side of the shafts.
