Samian bowl sherd, form Dr 37. A Southern Gaulish sherd from a slightly worn mould and a good rather orange gloss. The ovolo has a trident tongue. Below is a zonal decoration. The upper zone has a grass spray in the top left, flanked by a composite leaf. To the right there is a running dog (Oswald 1925), with a chordate leaf suspended from a tendril from the upper border above. Below the dog there is a set of stylised grass tufts. The lower zone consists of triple bordered plain festoons containing birds (similar to O2245 and 2291). The festoons are suspended from a bar and separated by a pendant motif.
