bookcase, in ten pieces, screwed together; moulded cornice above 6 brass trellis-filled doors, each enclosing six adjustable shelves, the central and end sections between paired reeded baluster columns; the whole resting on a flat plinth which runs the entire length above the lower cupboards; the central pair of doors above a fitted secretaire drawer with sliding, adjustable faded purple baize-lined writing surface and fitted writing instrument drawer with two glass inkwells, sliding back to reveal 6 hinged wells, each with 4 alphabet letters inlaid with beech ovals, around a large well; the secretaire drawer with stamped Bramah lock; below are a pair of Greek key patterned panelled doors enclosing a cupboard with 3 oak-lined slides with blue paper lining; middle and outer sections with panelled cupboard doors each with 3 adjustable shelves; on plinth base
