Doll - clockwork, waltzing. Head and upper are made of bisque with painted hair and facial features, arms made of china, wearing a short-sleeved dress of cream and pale pink check silk with a wide, floor-length skirt. Neckline of bodice and skirt are trimmed with creams silk ribbons and lace; wide silk ribbon used as belt; beneath the skirt is a clockwork mechanism. Under the dress is a muslin petticoat which is supported on a fine metal mesh, which also serves to protect the textile from the moving parts of the clockwork mechansim. The mesh and its lower edge is covered/bound in white cotton. With separate key to wind the mechanism.
