The ampulla is incomplete, missing an area of the obverse face and the side loops, and is folded (with a length of 59.5mm and a weight of 44.1g containing sediment). The expanded mouth (with a width of 26.1mm) is damaged and partially open. The neck has straight parallel sides and is of oval section (23mm wide and 16.8mm thick, because of damage). Stubs from the side loops begin 2 - 3mm above the body and have a length of 12.6mm (3.9mm internal). The body has a maximum surviving width of 26.8mm and a folded thickness of 16.6mm. The obverse face is convex and is decorated with the scallop motif, representing the emblem of pilgrimage, and has seven bold and curved ribs producing a corrugated effect, of Spencer (1990, p59), Type I. The ribs are wider at the base and narrow towards the neck. The reverse face is flat and plain with a bevelled edge. Casting flashes are evident along the edges of the ampulla.
