Patinated bronze First World War memorial plaque with inscriptions and decorative borders embossed in relief, headed “In ever grateful recognition of the splendid patriotism and heroic self sacrifice of the following employees of Guest, Keen & Nettlefolds, Ltd (Rogerstone Works)” and continued at the bottom “ who gave their lives for their King and Country in the Great War.” Palm leaf borders between eight panels, “1914” and “1918” in top corners and decorative roundels in lower corners. Lists 44 names in alphabetical order by surname and initials, in two panels. Commemorates the employees of Guest, Keen & Nettlefolds Castle steel works, Rogerstone, Monmouthshire, and the adjacent H.P. Wire Nail Works. Undoubtedly displayed in the Castle steel works general offices until the works closed in the 1930s when it was transferred to the new Castle Works at Cardiff. It is likely it was then displayed in the new general offices until they were demolished in the 1980s.
