Fragments from a medieval bone comb. The comb was made of a single piece, as opposed to three peice construction held together with pegs.
The comb is double sided with thick coarse teeth on one side and finer slim teeth on the opposing side. The ends are as tall as the teeth and very thich, making the overal shape an elongated H. The central reserve is of uneven thickness, it is unclear if this is an intentional design feature to give the object a slender curve or if it is just unevenly measured. The surface of the comb is extremely plain with no decoration.
Four large fragments mean a substantial amount of the object remains, however none of the fragments combine, meaning it's not complete. Five of the coase teeth remain and three of the fine teeth. There are five other loose tines in the box.
