Chain of office in a lined wooden case and makers mark 'V&S' comprising central insignia, 23 double linked lozenge shaped medals decorated with a crown crest. Second row of six lozenges and a central enamelled insignia engraved with names of presidents and dates in office from 1898-9 to 1968-9. Main insignia decorated with central figure of 'Justice', flanked with a sail ship and a train travelling on a viaduct to convey transport on land and sea. Also superimposed, Glamorgan coat of arms and Royal Court of Arms. Lower metal frame flanked with two full length teak emblems with a Tudor rose superimposed on each one. Above the central figure are clasped hands to convey symbolising brotherhood beneath central figure corncupia to devote hour of plenty. Superimposed on the outer border of the insignia is the lettering 'The President of the Rhondda Grocers Association'.
