Terence Soames (Cardiff) Ltd (Terence Soames (Cardiff) Ltd were based at 22 Dumfries Place, Cardiff and moved to St John’s Chambers, High Street Arcade, in 1962. Michael Woodward became the director in 1991 and is credited as the photographer in some later images by the company.)
Aerial view looking north west over Carmeltown and Beaufort, towards Brynmawr. The Reservoir Road railway viaduct is at left of centre (this carried the LNER line on a spur into Ebbw Vale High Level Station). The railway was closed in 1958, and the alignment now forms the A4281 road off the A465 Heads of The Valleys, leading through Ebbw Vale. The building at bottom right, (north of the smaller railway Viaduct), is Carmel Chapel, from which Carmeltown takes its name. Opposite (surrounded by trees) is Saint Davids Church.
