Tattoo flash on card. Six small images glued on paper, including female with book and the text ‘To the Unknown Warrior’, an angel and poppy on cross with the text ‘In memory of MOTHER’ and a female with the text the ‘The Girl I love’.

Other images include a bird, and a native American female.

Pen sketches of a couple and an address in Aldershot on reverse. The card is torn.

Knight, Jessie

Jessie Knight was the first prominent female tattooist in the UK. She took over her father's tattoo shop in Barry aged 18 in 1927 and went on to prominence whilst working in Chatham, Portsmouth and Aldershot. She returned to Barry in 1968, and continued to work there as a tattoo artist into the 1980s.
