Curtains
Pair of curtains, 1870-90. Originally owned by the Williams-Drummond family of Edwinsford, Carmarthenshire.
Made of alternating panels of burgundy wool velvet (four panels) and thick, coarse woolwork embroidery (three panels) worked on a cotton canvas ground. The panels are stitched together vertically. The curtains are lined with dark pink glazed tabby woven wool, and edged with cord/rope consisting of red/pink wool and yellow silk over a cotton core.
