Emergent doll made from a wooden skittle, 1909

Wooden doll. Block of wood, cone shaped with carved head, carved and painted features, Black painted hair. Armless. The piece of cotton material wrapped round has an embossed pattern (painted?) in dark green and is secured at the waist with a 'belt' of dark red silk thread.
