White cotton or linen chemise with a long full skirt.The bodice part is plain with lace decoration around the neck and arm holes. It has a centre front button fastening which extends below the waistline. There are six small covered buttons. The lower part of the chemise is attached separately and gathered slightly to form a full skirt. There is an extra layer applied to the face of the skirt measuring 45cm in depth this adds fullness but is also a decorative feature it consists of a band of cutwork at the top, rows of tucks then a small band of lace, further tucks and a wider and of lace.
